The Environment Agency carried out one of their annual fisheries surveys on the River Wreake last week at Crowes. Starting at peg 7 and working upstream to just below the signal box. An encouraging amount of fish was found including a large shoal of bream in peg 5, several chub and some good pike. The biggest measuring 78cm and estimated as a definite double figure fish.
The club have asked the EA to undertake out additional surveys on Red Lodge and Sysonby due to the poor catch returns over the last two seasons. These should be carried out in the next month or so.

This match was dominated by a large bream shoal in front of the Frisby bank with the top three anglers on adjacent pegs for a very close result.

Peg 52 again produced the top weight in the first A&M open match of the season. The event attracted a good entry of 54 from a wide area, unfortunately the lake didn't fish as well as expected with only 3 anglers making double figures, but the fish did seem more spread out with the top three coming from different areas.
